Performance

Engine Output

Ford has equipped the 2025 Bronco with three engine options. Entry level models use a turbocharged 2.3-litre four-cylinder engine making 274 horsepower and 315 pound-feet of torque. Higher trims can be equipped with a turbocharged 2.7-litre V-6, making 315 horsepower and 410 pound-feet of torque or a turbocharged 3.0-litre V-6 producing 406 horsepower and 440 pound-feet of torque. All of them outperform the lone 3.6-litre V-6 used by the current Wrangler.

Off-Road Capability

Obviously, both the Bronco and Wrangler have been known for their ability to dominate the toughest terrain. Ford built the Bronco to withstand the abuse of off-road driving with a broad range of steel bash plates protecting sensitive components. The Wrangler doesn’t protect as many areas with steel skid plates. Both models can ford more than 33 inches of water.

Design

Convenient Interior

Ford and Jeep designed their off-road vehicles to meet a variety of needs, with both models offering two- and four-door models. Bronco passengers can have up to 1,096 mm of front legroom and more than 900 mm in the back. The Wrangler comes up short of these marks.

Cargo Volume

As good as the Bronco is at dominating rough terrain, it’s even better at moving necessary gear in its cargo bay. Four-door models can offer up to 4,148 litres of cargo volume when the rear seats are folded down. The 2025 Wrangler tops out at 2,050 litres of cargo volume.

Technology

All-Purpose Tech

Both off-road platforms offer access to apps from the Apple CarPlay and Android Auto suites. However, the 2025 Bronco also has a trail telemetry function that will measure the various angles of the vehicle as it passes over obstacles to give drivers the most peace of mind.

Trail Assist

Ford has developed several systems to help 2025 Bronco drivers more easily take on the toughest trails. These systems include:

  • Trail Turn Assist
  • Ford Trail Control™
  • Trail 1-Pedal Drive
  • AdvanceTrac w/ Roll Stability Control
